Privacy Policy

This policy describes how the app “OVD: Open-Vocabulary Detection” (the “App”), provided by the individual developer ry_yoshida (“we”), handles information about its users.

1. Information We Collect

We do not collect any information about you. The App has no accounts and no analytics, and we run no servers that receive data from the App.

Object detection runs entirely on your device. Your photos, the classes you type, the detection results and the labels you export are never sent to us or to any third party.

2. Information Stored on Your Device

The following information is stored only inside the App on your device. We cannot access it, and it is erased when you delete the App.

Information	Description
Open images	Copies of the photos you open or take, with their detection results, so your work is restored at the next launch. A copy is deleted when you close the image.
Reference images	Copies of the example images you use to describe a class.
Classes	The class names you have typed.
Downloaded models	Detection models downloaded from the model list. They are excluded from iCloud backups.
Settings	Display settings, the number of model downloads earned by watching ads, and the timing of ads.

3. Camera and Photos

Camera: used only to take a photo when you choose to. The photo is not saved to your photo library.
Photo library: photos are chosen with the system photo picker, so the App receives only the photos you select and never accesses the rest of your library.
Export: exported labels and images are shared as a ZIP file through the system share sheet, to the destination you choose.

4. Model Downloads

The model list is read from, and models are downloaded from, a public repository on Hugging Face. These requests contain no information about you or your photos, but, as with any web request, Hugging Face receives your IP address and basic device information. See the Hugging Face Privacy Policy.

5. Advertising

The App shows ads through Google AdMob. Google and its advertising partners may collect the advertising identifier (IDFA), IP address, approximate location and device information to show, deliver and measure ads. This information is collected directly by them and is never received by us. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.

6. Your Choices About Ads

Tracking: at first launch, iOS asks whether the App may track you. Every feature of the App works if you decline. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland: a consent form is shown at first launch. You can change your choices at any time from “Privacy Settings” on the About screen of the App.
Personalized ads can also be managed in Google’s ad settings.

7. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when laws change or features are added. Important changes will be announced on this page.
